Warranty & Coverage – Domestic Appliance Repair Ltd

Genuine Parts & Manufacturer Warranties

At Domestic Appliance Repair Ltd, we always aim to use genuine manufacturer parts where possible. In our experience, pattern (non-branded) parts tend to be unreliable, so we stick to trusted brands to ensure the longevity of your repair.

Every new part we fit is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and we also offer our own labour guarantee for added peace of mind.

Manufacturer Warranty on Parts

When we install a new part, the warranty coverage depends on the manufacturer. Here are the standard warranty periods for common brands:

  • Bosch / Neff / Siemens – Usually 12 months
  • Hotpoint / Indesit – Typically 6 to 12 months
  • Beko – Often 12 months
  • Zanussi / AEG / Electrolux – Usually 12 months
  • Rangemaster – Can be 6 to 12 months, but some premium models have longer coverage
  • Generic (non-branded) elements – Usually 3 to 6 months

Warranty Coverage for Other Parts

Different parts of an appliance have varying manufacturer warranty periods. Below are some common examples:

  • Heating Elements (Ovens, Tumble Dryers, Water Heaters) – Typically covered for 6 to 12 months, depending on the brand.
  • Motors (Washing Machines, Dishwashers, Extractor Fans) – Often covered for 12 months, but some premium brands offer up to 5 years if registered.
  • Control Boards & Electronics – Usually 6 to 12 months, but some manufacturers extend this if professionally installed.
  • Seals, Hoses & Pumps – Typically 6 to 12 months, but wear-and-tear exclusions may apply.
  • Belts & Drive Components – Usually not covered if the damage is caused by misuse (e.g., clothing caught in tumble dryer doors).

Our Additional Labour Warranty

In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty, we provide an extra 6 months of free labour if the same part we fitted fails and needs replacing.

  • If the part fails within 6 months, we will replace it for free, including labour.
  • After 6 months, we will still provide the part free of charge (if still under manufacturer warranty), but a labour charge will apply.

What Is NOT Covered Under Warranty?

While we stand by our repairs, certain faults are not covered by either our labour guarantee or the manufacturer’s warranty. These include:

  • Rodent Damage – If a fault is caused by rats or mice chewing through wires, it will not be covered. No manufacturer covers rodent-related damage.
  • Misuse or User-Caused Issues – If a fault occurs due to a blocked pipe, filter, or spray arm, this is classed as misuse and is not covered under our labour warranty. If the same issue occurs due to neglected maintenance, a call-out charge will apply.
  • Blocked Spray Arms & Filters (Dishwashers) – If these are not cleaned regularly, they can cause safety thermostats to fail. This type of damage is not covered by us or any manufacturer.
  • Water & Limescale Damage – If a component fails due to hard water buildup or lack of maintenance, the warranty may be voided.
  • Accidental Damage – Any failure caused by physical damage, incorrect use, or force will not be covered.
